About the WYSO Center

A home for music. A resource for community. A venue for ideas.

The WYSO Center is a 40,000 sq ft building on East Washington Avenue, owned and operated by the Wisconsin Youth Symphony Orchestras. By day it's where young musicians rehearse. The rest of the time, it's yours to rent.

Our story

Built for music, open to Madison

After decades of rehearsing in borrowed spaces, the Wisconsin Youth Symphony Orchestras launched a bold campaign to build a permanent home. The WYSO Center opened in 2023.

The same features that make it a great place to rehearse make it a great place to meet: halls with professional-level acoustics, rooms full of natural light, and spaces that flex from a 12-person board meeting to a 180-person conference.

We rent the building to businesses, nonprofits and community groups when our students aren't using it, with Wi-Fi, projectors and chairs included and no hidden fees.

Why it matters

Every rental supports young musicians

Rental revenue goes back into WYSO's work with more than 500 students each year: tuition assistance, outreach in underserved schools and the long-term sustainability of Wisconsin's largest youth orchestra program.
